Meet Thomas Silkman is a multi-award-winning fingerstyle guitarist, educator, and performer specializing in modern percussive and exploratory fingerstyle guitar. His unique playing style transforms a single acoustic guitar into the sound of an entire band through percussion, alternate tunings, harmonics, and creative techniques.
An active competitor, Thomas regularly performs in state, regional, and national competitions, including the prestigious International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. He also holds the Guinness World Record for restringing 32 guitars in one hour.
As an educator, Thomas has helped hundreds of students, from complete beginners to advanced performers develop their skills and confidence on the guitar. His teaching philosophy focuses on making learning enjoyable while tailoring each lesson to the individual student's goals and musical interests.
Beyond private instruction, Thomas has founded several online guitar education platforms, including WiFi Music School and YourStrum.com, and has presented numerous workshops, clinics, and masterclasses for guitarists of all skill levels.
When he's not traveling, teaching or performing, Thomas is in the studio working on his upcoming Nashville-produced album, showcasing his signature blend of modern fingerstyle guitar, songwriting, and innovative acoustic techniques.
